Telemedicine Medical-Legal Examination

Telemedicine is a simple, efficient, and safe way to conduct medical-legal examinations in the age of COVID-19. It bridges the gap between stand-alone Medical Record Reviews and Independent Medical Examinations or CR-35 Examinations.

Because physicians can interview the injured party, first-hand information about the case can be gleaned. In many instances, observational virtual physical examinations can be conducted. The result is a far more comprehensive evaluation of the injured party than can be obtained by a standard Medical Record Review alone.

The Advantages Of Telemedicine Medical-Legal Examinations

  • More comprehensive than stand-alone Medical Record Review reports.
  • Gives physicians the opportunity to gather first-hand information from the injured party.
  • Allows physicians the opportunity to perform cursory observational physical examinations.
  • Eliminates the need for travel, room rental, and chaperones.
  • Protects both physicians and injured parties from COVID-19 exposure.
  • Allows physicians to testify with first-hand information taken directly from their interviews and observational examinations.
  • More accurate than a stand-alone Medical Record Review report.
  • More cost-effective & safer than traditional in-person Independent Medical Examinations or CR-35 Examinations.

INDEPENDENT MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS

Independent Medical Examinations (IME) provide answers to questions about the medical nature, cause, and treatment of medical conditions and injuries.

The IME service consists of an examination, review of the medical file, and the creation of a concise and customized report.

If arbitration, litigation, or testimony is requested, our experts provide an informed, evidence-based opinion about the questions in the case.

Final reports undergo rigorous quality assurance and are tailored to meet your specific turn-around-time requirements.

MEDICAL RECORD REVIEWS

A Medical Record Review (MRR) is a review of the pertinent medical records which is performed when an in-person examination is not possible or necessary.

Similar to the medical record review performed at the time of the IME service, the MRR report can also provide answers to questions regarding the medical nature as well as the cause and treatment of specific conditions and injuries.

This Service Can Evaluate:

  • Causality
  • Return-to-work concerns
  • Standard of Care
  • Diagnosis
  • Impairment
  • Necessity and Reasonableness of Treatment

Upon receipt of the MRR report, an examination is frequently requested.

Final reports undergo rigorous quality assurance and are tailored to meet your specific turn-around-time requirements.
