The North West Reining Association is an affiliate of the National Reining Horse Association and is dedicated to promoting the sport of reining by providing shows and educational opportunities for all levels of riders.

The NWRA offers an annual show series in which we are committed to providing classes for every reining level, with special attention to beginners and the many levels of intermediate horses and riders who are working their way up. Schooling rounds are offered at our shows to provide experience and training opportunities for you and your horse. We put special effort in keeping our shows FRIENDLY and FUN!

We offer our members a great year-end awards program tailored to meet the needs of the individual. Questionnaires are provided to members so they can specify what awards they would prefer. The annual awards banquet is held each year in November and is highlighted with fun, great food and wonderful awards that our members are proud to receive.

To date, NWRA continues to grow in membership and has proven to be one of the most popular venues in Western WA for new riders to gain experience in the show pen.

Six shows are scheduled each year with classes offered for all levels of riders. In addition to our popular modified beginner patterns, the year-end awards program also plays a major factor in the success of our growth.

So, whether you are schooling to prepare for bigger shows, riding at an intermediate level or just starting out, we have something for you!

The North West Reining Association was founded in 1995 by a small group of approximately forty five reining enthusiasts who wanted a fun way to get together and show their horses.

During the final show of the club's first year, tragedy struck when one of the founding members, Randy Barr collapsed on his horse during the afternoon warmup. Sadly he passed away from a rare medical condition a few days later.

Randy's passing prompted the creation of the Randy Barr Memorial Class in 1997 for novice horse and riders. To date, this perpetual bronze trophy continues to be one of the most coveted awards at our annual year-end banquet.
